About KF Group, Inc.

The History...
Don L. King, Founder
A true gentleman, Donald L. King, founded KF GROUP, INC. in August of 1995. Mr. King was Operation's Manager for a gas and welding supply company in Greensboro, NC in the early 1980's. In 1990, he started another repair company in Greensboro and was able to build that company. In 1995, Mr. King found himself parting ways with his business partner. He then founded in August 1995 a new company called KF Group, Inc. in a 4,000 square foot facility in Greensboro, NC.

Three months later, Mr. King passed away due to a sudden heart attack, at the young age of 52 years old, leaving his family with many very important decisions to make at such a difficult time in their lives. Mr. King built the foundation for a successful repair business for someone to pick up where he left off in order to move forward with the business. Mr. King's wife, Carol King, stepped forward and approached her family and asked them if they would help run the company. She would provide the financial backing to continue her husband's dream. The sons-in-law, Randy Freeman and Greg Saylor, resigned from their professional careers and began working for KF Group handling the day-to-day operations and the sales of this newly formed company. This was a very trying time for the family to step up and build this company. It is very hard to start a new company under normal circumstances, but especially difficult when presented with KF Group's situation of being in business only three months.

When Mr. King's customers and outside sales force found out that he had passed way, the phone would not stop ringing. They were telling us how Mr. King was a true business friend, and they wanted to see the company move forward as he would have wanted. The business grew rapidly over the period from 1995 to 1998.
Our lease was up on the 4,000 square foot building, so Carol King, President, decided to purchase land to construct a building to house the family repair business. In March of 1996, she purchased 3.75 acres for the new building, and built a 17,200 square foot building for the company. It was a large expansion going from a 4,000 square foot building to the new, modern, state of the art 17,200 square foot building. We moved into our new facility in October 1998 and were able to move over a 3-day weekend. Our customers did not lose any repair time on their jobs that we had in house for repair.

Since we moved into our new state of the art facility, we have been able to develop new load stations and test labs to ensure that our repairs have been done correctly when the job is returned to the customer. KF Group is re-investing back into the company for new technology testing on the new wave of surface mount controls and equipment. We also have invested into our highly skilled, experienced and committed employees, so that we can maintain our commitment to our customers. Mr. King's company goal was customer satisfaction and that is what we strive for everyday. If we do not take care of our customers, we will not stay in business serving the repair industry. We as a company and the family members of Mr. Don King would like to thank each of our customers for your past and future industrial electronic repair business.
